Mukilteo Commissions, Committees & Boards
The City of Mukilteo encourages citizen participation in municipal government. A very important part of the City’s policy development process is its Commissions, Committees and Boards.
While some Commissions and Boards are required by State law, such as the Planning Commission and the Civil Service Commission, others are established by local ordinance or by special appointment by the Mayor and Council on an as needed basis. In general, the primary purpose of these groups is to provide on-going advice to the Mayor and City Council.
With the exception of Hearing Examiner, all Commission and Board positions are voluntary and unpaid. The Mayor, City Council and community are fortunate to have such dedicated residents devote so much time and effort to these Boards, Commissions and Committees to help make good public policy for Mukilteo.
